that sounds perfect, i was debating whether or not to tuck the original light box under the seat, or chop it off, i think im just going to chop it off and solder the pod on. Any issues with water "resistance"? thanks again for the recommendation, you saved me like 20 bux, next time im in ur neck of the woods i'll get you a cold one  chug

The one from monster parts in the first post is great.  The LED's spread wide and you can angle the bracket that is included to get the light just right on your plate.
I had a slight mishap that broke mine. My whole taillight plus plate came off and bounced on my tire.  I needed a new light so I went and got some bolt lights at wal mart.  I should of never done that, they suck.  When I get a chance I'm going to order another light from monster parts.

I have the Radiantz one installed on my bike.  It works pretty damn well.

The first one I bought didn't work right, but Radiantz sent me a new one without any hassle (although it did take awhile).

IMO, it looks great.
