ANYWAY.. I guess our family is really lucky because "Family Day" IS bike day!  I have 2 sons in their late 20's and riding as a family is what we do.  It's so great - it started as riding mountain bikes together, then moving up to dirt bikes in the woods and on the track together, and now riding on the road together.  We watch out for each other and share a love for riding, and I couldn't be happier!  My dream "family vacation" would be for all of us to take both the dirt and road bikes to West Virginia and alternate riding the trails one day, and the road the other!! [moto]
I don't understand when the wives won't "LET" their husbands do the things that they love- my husband is always getting hurt either on the dirt bike or playing hockey.  My friends sometimes would say "why do you let him do things that he could get hurt at"?  LET HIM?  What is he.... five?
So if you have young kids, maybe you can follow my plan of bicycles- to -dirt- bikes -to- road bikes, and if you have a girl, let her understand that whatever she wants to try to do, even though it's traditionally "not for girls", she can take it on! [clap]  Besides... if you're a woman that loves boys AND their toys, there's no better place!

My wife doesn't let me do the laundry.

I turn everything that's white to pink.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

All of your replies are great. We don't have a no anal month, that's more a hit or miss thing.
She works almost every Saturday and all during the week (self employed) and she just wants me to hang out on Sundays, I'm cool with that because I pretty much ride all week anyway.
Our daughter is 24 so kids are the issue. It could be possible that I'm making a big deal out of nothing and she wants me to accomplish something aroud the house. Like this sunday we planted two persion lilacs and a service berry plus I got 3/4 of the yard mowed, I guess I see her point in that I would rather ride all weekend instead of working.

She is actually a very good wife (although I don't have any others to compare). The reason for the question was for imput from everyone as the best way not to turn into a snivelling bastard. This is a fun thread and very useful. Thanks, gotta go thecows are out

Oh --- just so everyone knows, she isn't a pregnant dog and she does support my riding addiction. She buys my tires and about a month ago got me set of Pirelle angel st's

Awesome tires, better than the corsa III's she bought me last time

Given that context, her designating Sunday as "family day" is completely appropriate.

Life................she's full of compromises.

If your wife is fine with you riding 6 days a week and otherwise supportive, it sounds like she's being very compromising and not at all unreasonable in asking you to stick around on Sundays. Besides, if you get to ride week days (as I do with shift work and a compressed work week) Sundays are the one day I avoid the road as I usually find it overrun with idiots on bikes.

I prefer to ride on days where I'm one of the few idiots on the road.
