Maybe its time to make up your own wiring so that you KNOW its good.  Not that hard to do...... now that you're in this deep  ;D

that might be my next option.  despite the fact that i didn't need every part in the lighting kit including a switch, it was cheaper than purchasing the components piece meal.  i don't foresee any other use for all of the spare parts that i'd be buying.

Or else if you own a multi-meter, its time to be checking continuity over your new wiring kit...

Two bad relays?  How likely??
You've apparently wired it correctly.... more than once.

What else can there be but a bad connection somewhere or bad ground??  ???

o.k.  here's a few stupid questions:

would my battery tender have any thing to do with this problem?  i'm unsure how i hooked it up.  which lead goes to +/-, but i do know that it works.

haven't bought the multi meter yet.  price range is big $11-$100 US $.  looks like a $20 model shoud do the trick.  but not sure what this will tell me.  oem horn works with original wiring.  fiamm works with original wiring.  fiamm doesn't work with relay kit.  so it's gotta be the kit, right?  maybe i should just go to a completely different auto parts store and make sure that i don't buy the same brand.  the multi meter would just tell me that/where the problem is in the kit anyway, correct?

for now, i've put everything back to the original way just so that i can ride her.  this is starting to look like a project for another weekend.

Ciao!

A $20 meter will be fine.  The meter and knowledge will tell you the problem  Does the relay click?

Good.  When you get your meter make sure you have power at at 87 when you press the horn button.  If you do, the relay is working.  Just for the hell of it, make sure there is power going to 30.

If all is good. try running an extra ground wire from the horn to negative on the battery.  If the horn now works you have a bad ground.
