With the exchange rate atm i'm looking for some parts from US websites

but which ones ?? i know plenty of shops down here but know nothing about US ones

primarily i'm looking for some wheels and tyres

any recomendations of webshops that are worthwhile using or any to avoid ;) ??

i guess doesnt really need to be a decent webshop but just somewhere that is willing to sell and ship to Aus

any help much appreciated  [beer]

i dont care if you have been a mechanic for 10 years doing something for a long time does not make you good at it, take my gf for an example shes been walking for 28 years and still manages to fall over all the time.

I've found pretty decent prices on BFG's on Tirerack.com

the shipping costs kill any savings though

I'll second Mother's tirerack.com recommendation, but have to imagine shipping will be mighty high.

What are you driving? Most of the 4WD specialty shops in North America tend to focus on just one make - Toyota, Jeep, Rover, Suzuki Samurai, etc. - so you don't get a whole lot of cross-platform overlap, except on things like tires & wheels.

I know a lot of the Toyota Land Cruiser aftermarket bits I crave for our '85 FJ60 (but generally can't afford) come from Down under.

And while we're on the subject, you owe yourself a subscription to the Overland Journal http://www.overlandjournal.com/ - it's beautifully photographed and printed, with fantastic, real-world reviews of vehicles and gear, and the editors are friends & neighbors of mine up here in the mountains of Arizona.  ;D

thanks for that

just had a quick look on there

the BFG's are about half what they cost down here so with the dollar being 1:1 its a good option even with freight considered which i would use sea freight and that would take anywhere up to 3 months but it far cheaper than other options

I drive a  2009 vehicle which you guys would know as the thai chevy colorado ,  can you please tell me the model name they use in the USA ?

thanks

I've had good experiences with 4wheelparts.com.
Also, they have a free magazine that is actually pretty good and covers a lot of events, older vehicles, historic 4WD vehicles etc..

+1 on 4wheelparts, you may want to check out discounttiredirect.com also, I picked up a set of 18" rims and nitto 35" trail grapplers, for what schwab wanted just for a set of toyo 35 mudders. Not if they'll ship down there but they did offer 12 month no interest financing also.
