Did my ECU automatically adjust?

Hi, I have a 2009 M1100s with only ~400 miles on it (bought it new ~ a month ago). I picked up and installed a set of HMF slip ones (pregnant dogin sound by the way). The first ride it did a bit of decel popping which I sort of expected (same thing happened on my S2R1K after putting Arrow cans on it). About an hour later I go for another ride and no popping (I am not complaining BTW). Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? On my S2R I eventually put a "FatDuc" on it, am wondering if I will need to do similar (except I think it would be that duc 1-ee deal, or whatever it was called) I have not done any other mods i.e. air filter or collector.

Others might chime in, but I believe it didn't self-adjust.
If the popping was due to leaks - the leaks may have fixed themselves after being hot/cold/hot?

The Duc.EE will allow you to take off the exhaust flapper contraption, but it doesn't affect fueling like the FatDuc.
FatDuc isn't made for the new Monster, is it?

I think I read somewhere that the Siemens ECU resets TPS every time the key is turned on. It was from a discussion about whether or not new Monster owners had to take their bike to the dealer after installing the Termi kits at home. Could have something to do with it, I don't know. I also read something about the Marelli ECUs not responding immediately to fuel trim changes until ridden a few miles, i.e. 'learning'. Might be a load a hooey but I'm certain I'm not making it up.

I agree.  My Termi slip-ons (with so-called "racing" ECU) used to pop on decel all the time, the ECU (designed specifically for the Termi cans remember) never learned to make fuelling adjustments to compensate for the lean state responsible for the popping.  I dont believe yours did either.

FatDuc isnt made for the new monster, correct.  Although when you buy a PCV it comes with o2 "optimisers" which are basically the same thing (although unajustable) as FatDuc.  I happen to think that if Dynojet could be persuaded to sell these optimisers alone (as in without the PCV) that they would be the single biggest improvement to the new monster's low-end fuelling - simple, cheap yet very effective.  I also wonder why I never take my own good advice  [laugh].  But I digress.

just a small correction, you can adjust the o2 optimizers on the PC V.
"There are some dip switches where you can adjust the target AFR on it, but the AFR we found best for performance is preprogrammed into them, so that you can just plug and play.

What, so if you peel back the heat shrink there are dip SWs???  Interesting.  You'd need to know what switch combo returned which AFRs though.
