Hi everybody, I'm back again with even more additions/modifications to my 2001 M900sie. This time, I managed to do quite a bit all together but I feel the most interesting modification I did was fitting foot controls off a 2002 ST2 onto the Monster. First I'll start with the easy stuff as the foot controls was quite an experience to say the least.

So to begin, the easiest mod by far was fitting the Vortex Key-less Gas Cap onto the tank. I personally am not a big fan of keyed gas caps and all my bikes live in my garage so I'm not too worried about getting my gas siphoned [thumbsup]

After that was it was onto the front end of the bike, specifically my front turn signals and handlebars. The only reason I changed the blinkers was because my almost 25 year old OEM one decided to do this  [bang]

I decided to use the NRC 50MM Fork Turn Signals which made use of the R&G 21.5ohm Turn Signal Resistors. If you have very basic wiring knowledge like me this is a super easy mod and I absolutely love the look.

For my handlebars, I utilized Rizoma 7/8" Black Bars and ODI Vans 7/8" Grips.

Two things to keep in mind if you have bar end mirrors (in my case CRG Hindsight Lanesplitters):
-You will have to cut the ends off the grips as they are closed ended grips.
-The Rizoma bar end openings are slightly bigger than the OEM ones. This means that that you will need to use a bigger brass collar to get the bar ends stay in the bars. By brass collar, I mean this:

Finally, it was time to start on the foot controls. I managed to snag an entire set of front foot controls and rear passenger pegs off Ebay that were taken from a 2002 Ducati ST2.

In order to utilize the ST2 footpegs you WILL have to get new hardware for mounting holes. The OEM bolts are not long enough and the shank (which also acts as a spacer on the original setup) will not fit through the mounting holes on the ST pegs. If you have a high mount like me, you also WILL have to use the OEM spacers and then some more spacers (I believe I got 1/2" spacers) as well as grinding a little bit of metal off the ST pegs to get it to clear the exhaust pipes.

After figuring all that out, this is how they look mounted on the bike

Next it was onto the brake pedal. This wasn't too difficult as the pedal assembly itself bolts right up to the engine case  ;D . A couple things to note:
-You WILL have to get a longer hose for the reservoir as the master cylinder sits drastically lower on this setup.
-The brake light sensor is plug and play however, I had to cut into one of the main wire looms in order for the OEM connector to reach the connector off the ST brake lever. I think this is the much easier option compared to adding wire onto one end of the connection  [laugh]
-As I expected, the OEM braided lines will not work with this setup so you WILL have to get a new rear line made. Thankfully a local shop was able to make me one in 10 minutes for about $45 [thumbsup]

At last, I finally finished this massive under taking and I am very happy with how the bike turned out

Thank you for reading this far, if you have any more questions on this setup please feel free to shoot me a message and I'll answer to the best of my ability!
