But anyhow, I did chew and even swallowed.  Didn't taste all that bad really, though was a touch unsettled an hour later.  But hey, it was Africa.

i had some brain (i think) in rome once. my landlord said 'its a local delicacy, it's ok if you don't finish'... i took the out.

If someone tells you 'it's a delicacy', they're trying to feed you offal. A true delicacy is a prime cut of 100% beef - very hard to find in most places.

Duck Blood Soup...

Had a close neighbor where I grew up that loved Duck Blood soup made in the traditional Polish style where I grew up.  We even donated the ducks cause he watched our farm when we were away on trips.  I used to watch him bleed the ducks in a very peculiar intimate manner which seemed weird to me as a child but still accepted.
