I was staying with some family in Eastern Oregon and decided to make the 230 mile round trip to ride the Snake River canyon road I have read about.  The trip consisted of riding a good chunk of the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway via Hwy 82, Forest Service Road 39, and Hells Canyon Road.  All of the roads had some amazing views, good to great pavement, and hundreds of curves.  I strapped on  a couple GoPro's and got some great shots.  I figured I would share a few with you all.

This is how I transported the Monster the 580 miles from Medford to Wallowa Oregon.  The Versahaul worked flawlessly and was very happy with it!

Nice, I've often wondered about those hitch mounts for street bikes.

I am very happy with the way it performed.  I did modify it by welding a front wheel chock from Harbor Freight which makes keeping the bike upright while cinching it down a breeze.  Once ratcheted down at all for corners and one from the frame to the hitch for good measure, the Monster was rock solid.  Now, I wouldn't be throwing the FJR up there, but the low weight of the Monster helps ease the mind as it's no where near the carrier max capacity (600 lbs).  I also airbag-ed the 'burb to help level everything out.

Nice shots. Monster looks nice. Rattle can those belt covers black.

Seems a shame though, having a bike tied up like that.

I did that to mine, used Duplicolor from the auto parts store and it looks like they came from the factory that way.  Duplicolor however is not as 'hard' as true automotive finishes so be aware it will scratch easier.

Butt speaking of the roads over there, there is a forest service road that goes from just east of Halfway to Joseph that is really amazing. I rode it the first year that it was paved and will never forget it!

That is actually FS-39 (the non canyon road pictured above)   waytogo

My only gripe was the last 10 miles before getting into Joseph, there were some seriousely sneaky potholes!
