The actual bodies/cases share the same part #'s as well. Both tachometer's are actually described as "electronic tachometer" in the parts diagram, which I assume means they get their signal from the coils. The only "mechanical" tachometer output I can think of is on the front side of early carbed 900ss engines, above and to the right of the horizontal head timing gear.

Are you proving me wrong about something? I'm not following.  :)

I hope it still works for it's intended purpose, now I'm concerned.  :-\

No, not proving you wrong, just identifying what part you have.

If your existing 750 tacho has the same style face, swap it in, and check/swap idiot light wires as necessary.

You can use the water temp light (bottom center) for whatever.

That's what I'm thinking...I just emailed the seller. He seemed annoyed that I ignored the huge words; KEY CODE. But the part # from that listing doesn't even line up with an S4 of that vintage. I'm pretty sure I can get this to work without too much hassle, Mainly I'm concerned about the wiring pigtail now. It only has 3 simple jobs to do, and obviously no ECU means whatever immobilzer may be in there is of no consequence to me. Worse case scenario I swap my old pigtail in.
