I came from Kawasaki and agree...started every time, sold it with 85000km, engine wasn't opened once.
I am missing that sometimes, but you can fight it by having more than one ducati. When I have to leave for work I am taking atleast two keys...one will start...

115000 km on my Ducati, engine never opened, even the clutch (wet) is original.  I know of at least one other Monster in my area that hit 160,000 km a couple of years ago, don't know what it has on it now, but still running, engine never opened.  Then there is philb.  Yep, his has been opened, but it has over 377,000 km.
