I was of the view that the M1100/S DS motor has more in common with the other 1100DS motors than with the 1100Evo, particularly on the timing side. The Evo motor has a different alternator and timing/primary gears and a lighter crank assembly. The timing cases may be the same bar colours but I haven't compared them side by side. The Evo alternator has rare earth components and is smaller, but I don't know if the case cavity is different to match it or if they just used the previous cases.

I'm fairly certain he man's problems came from a case to gear mismatch.
There was no program that could deal with the crank sensor being in the wrong place.
Everything about stator size still applies.

The man’s problems came from hitting ice in a horseshoe turn and needing a new generator side cover. Was looking for possible other models that might have crossover. Will be ordering new one when I return from my trip mid January
