Hi, all.

Since work is still ongoing with the HYM1100, I spent this summer on the SS900/ST2 bike, which is no up and running again after the torpedo incident as described earlier in this thread. The motor has not been changed, but pretty much everything else .... new rear subframe, new fibreglass, new paint ....
First, I had to make a new rear subframe, with new attachment points on the main frame, and matching attachment pionts on the alu subframe. It does take a tremendous amount of time to fabricate all these small bits and pieces, and for a track day bike, it´s not very rational .... but I like to do it, even if repairing is not as much fun as doing somethig new.

With the new fibreglass and paint, this is what it finally looks like:

Of course, some gremlins remained to be ironed out, like my butt getting real hot:

It might not have been quite that hot, but lifting the seat revealed the culprit:

The old Laverda silencer, which has been on the bike for many years, finally gave in beyond (yet another) repair, and the bike now has a brand new silencer.

I have not had the bike on a dyno, but it runs quite well, I think. On the "Dyno uphill" straight at MAntorp Park, my best top speed of the summer was 212 kmh, as compared last years 222 with the 749R/HYM1100 combo. I´ve used Bridgestone S22/S23 tires all summer, and I´ve managed lap times within, or close to, one second of the lap times from last year with the other bike on slicks. No times to brag about, being the old person that I am, but for me, it´s good result. And the main thing, it´s really fun to ride :-)
Monster 900-2002 (sold, alive and well (?) in the UK), 749R / 1100 HYM combo for track days, wifes / my Monster Dark 800-2003 (not entirely "Dark" anymore and a personal favourite) , 100% of 900SSie -2000 track bike for rainy days-now with tuned ST2 motor and Microtec ECU.
