This is a good thing to have.  I have one for my D70 and it's very very handy for low-light situations ~

depends on the camera... i'm sure you can disable the flash and set the iso. the long exposure is the trick, though, and not all p&s cameras have the ability to do that.

As Derby mentioned you may be able to do it with a point and shoot. There's also a bit of photoshop involved to get it just right if you do it the way I did it.
I didn't have a large black drop cloth to blacken out the background so it really took some time setting up the over head light to get it just right. Even though the picture looked pretty good you could still see some of the background in the original photo so with a little help from photoshop I was able to get the effect that you see.
I've been wallowing in my own chaotic and insecure delusions.
