Noise with rear brake

With my 03 M620, I noticed recently that, when I press on the rear brake, there would be a slight pop.  It would occur when I am going at cruising speed and want to stop for a red light.  It almost sounds like a cross of a rubber band snapping and a tire running over a rock/pebble.  The hard I press the brake, the louder it gets....

Is it something to be concerned about?  Any idea for the cause of it and fix?

Thanks guys

Check all your bolts back there. Make sure they are all tight.  Caliper bolts, axle nuts, wheel alignment bots, anything that might pop forward when you brake.

I'll admit my experience with brakes is limited, but could it be the pads/Caliper resetting to there normal position after your previous stop?

Meaning at the last stop the bike moved/rolled back a little slightly moving the pads out of there normal position, when you apply them again, could they simply be popping back into there normal spot?

Well that is the thing.  The pads are secured by 2 pins that run through one side of the caliper then through the pads then through the other side of the caliper.  The caliper is fixed in place by 2 large bolts.  They should not move when he stops so if there is popping it may be that there is something (like a bolt) loose

Pull the brake off disassemble and look for any issues, clean and reinstall.  I had an odd noise a few years ago (more of a grinding noise than anything) after a tear down and a bit of brake-kleen it stopped.  I would be a little nervous with a brake making any noise.

I does sound as if something is loose, check all bolts, and check pads for abnormal wear ~

Thanks for the suggestions.  I was at lost for the source of that noise.  I will take off the rear wheels/brake and make sure all go back on tight.

Cheers
