I just picked up a 99 M750 Dark and it needs a set of tires. Right now its sitting on 120/60/17 front and a 160/60/17 rear. I have a friend who has a set of Pirelli Diablos for $200, only catch is that they are 120 front 180 rear and im not sure of the sidewall size of either. But could they be acceptable sizes? or will the 180 throw off balance/handling?

thanks in advance

A 180 tire will slow handling a bit and is too wide for your 4.5'' wheel.  If the 120 is a 70 profile it will raise the front a little which can be compensated for by changing the position of the forks in the triples.

cool thanks for the relpy. No go on the 180 rear then.

I have a '99 M750 as well.

I run my stock 160 out back just fine and LOVE the fact I switched to the 120/70 up front.  The bike practically steers itself into the turns.  It turns with less effort than my '00 900SS with a 180 out back and the 120/70 up front.
