Well, let's see.

CBR1000F, 60,000 miles, NO problems.
Triumph 955 Daytona, 60,000 miles.  NO problems.
Suzuki Bandit 1200S, 60,000 miles.  NO problems.
CBR900RR, 20,000 miles.  NO problems.
2 CB900F, a gazillion miles.  NO problems.
My Brothers ZRX1200, NO problems.
BMW K100 something or another, 75,000 miles, NO problems.
Several GS1000's, a GS1100E, all had stator problems at 20,000 miles.  After, NO problems.
KZ1000J, 50,000 miles, NO problems.
GS500E commuter bike.  Lots of problems.  Piece of crap.
Almost forgot, there was an SV650 in there too, awesome little bike, other than the S4, probably the fastest little urban warrior, haul ass around town bike that there is.  At least until I rode a Hypermotard 1100S last week at the Ducati Demo days thing.
There's a whole bunch more over the past 39 years or so, most have been pretty reliable, most have been Japanese, except for the odd KTM or two.

S4 Ducati.  12,000 when I bought it.  15 miles later, I walk home.  Now at 500 miles in my hands, it won't hardly run, going back to the shop today.  Maybe I'll trade up.  If they are willing.

I'd avoid that second dealer like the plague.....  Bummer if you live in SB, but there's a reason they aren't ProItalia Santa Barbara anymore.  And whatever reason he gives you isn't the truth.

I could tell you a funny story about him, but only one.  The rest are awful

Just sayin'....

what i hate is when the dealer has your bike within a couple months of you buying it and you have to make your monthly payment AND pay for the repairs. That sucks.

sorry, you've been PM'd.

On the worry front, I say buck the Ducati standard.  Get them bugs kilt, and ride the dog snot outta the bikes.  It'll hurt their resale, but if you are looking to invest, bikes aren't where to do it.  I bought a "high mileage" S2R (11K miles) for a couple grand under average, and since I've put another 5K on her... Over the winter....  in colorado...  sometimes I think there's something not right about the odometer....

Hey could you hip me as to what happened there?  I just dropped my bike off there this morning to Carlon and Trevor.   I think they are going to make it right.  I hope so anyway.

Thanks, Robert

just to fill anyone who cares in...
Fri. left work early got to SB and they had pulled the tank off another bike for me, quick swap and by friday night Loki was running.
Sat. and Sun. included EPIC rides.
They did me a favour by not making me waite for them to order a replacement tank, for that i am gratefull.
On to more important things .................... Man that 1100 is fun !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Causeofkaos

Loki, or rather Loke, was a Viking God of mischiefs and considered the God of fire as well. (As far as I know not a Greek God)
He had special powers, but was not to be trusted - a PITA for the big shots like Thor (with the hammer) and Odin.

Just thought you should know who you named your bike after Wink
