For the '08 race, we had reserved seats at the very top row of the grandstand - we were under the awning in the 'B Penthouse'. From our seats, we could see the bikes come down the main straight, into the first 3-4 turns and exit out onto the back of the track. We could also see the big Jumbotrons that were located right over the pit area - that was a very nice perk. I liked the seats so much that I reserved the same ones for this year's race.
As accommodations go, we rented an RV and stayed in the campground right across from the track. It was good, but I'm considering a hotel downtown for this year - especially if we can ride a shuttle bus back+forth to the race.

Here's a bump now that we're on the eve of Indy Moto GP.
I am riding over with some friends, but I am taking my Yamaha. We camp at a friends place up in Frankfort, just north of Indy. We will be in section J again, awesome seats. See the last several turns including the blast onto the main straight.
We are going to the speedway Saturday night to see King Kenny ride the TZ powered flat tracker on a demo ride. As old as I am I have never seen Kenny ride, really looking forward to that!
I am leaving Monday for Wendover UT and the salt if anyone wants in on a masochistic cross country dash!

I saw him roadrace...a TZ 350.
Never saw him on dirt.
Sounds like a hoot.

If anyone is interested in meeting the six of us from Charleston, and our harrowing tales of the ride up. We will be throwing back a cold one or two during dinner at a local rider's pub D'town Fri. night at 8:30pm.

The CDC will be somewhat represented. I'll be in the Project Mugello granstand, which were moved for a better view this year. Will probably be hanging with the Hoosier Hooligans and camping next to the track. I'm also volunteering in the Island in the hospitality tent. Look for the short rican.
