I just moved back east (dirty jerz) from San Francisco, and I think it may have been one of the worst decisions I have made.  As soon as I got into the state I was tailgated for about 6 miles until I pulled into my driveway.  People are assholes, shitty drivers and it is humid here.  Yes the pizza is better, but pretty much everything else sucks.

like ducatiz said - move west!

Ah mang, we miss you already. Keep us posted  [moto]

Or Go south.

I just went to NYC and left with swine flu. It was an exciting time, saw some friends, cool stuff everywhere. And I pretty much wanted to bath in Purell every 15 minutes or each subway ride. Should have. Sick as a dog 4 days.

From there I went to N. Carolina. OMG for a place so near, it couldn't be further away. Genuinely engaging people, eagerly polite, social, look you in the eye kind of people. Sure there were some frightening rebel flag waving types, but they seemed few and a banal element. Lots of bikes out near the beach and people seemed respectful of their space.

I want to go find Nickey in Kentucky one of these days. I'm a bit intrigued with the whole thing.  ;D

Recently a motorcyclist in California apparently brake checked an RV.  Yup, he got run over.
Tragic from any angle, but as far as I am concerned, this guy died of extremely poor judgment...

And, on the subject of poor judgment (theirs not yours), sorry to hear about your bike, He Man - I hope it has been degreased and is fully operational.
On the first reading, it sounded like it may have been accidental?  Like a dumpster full of juices got emptied, and leaked over the top of your bike?

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I have no dog in this fight (hahahah)...but this isn't quite right.   It's granted for good cause.   Lots of reasons besides cash business...that's just the most common example.

carry on (hahahhaha...get it...carry.......I crack me up)

Right - like you have been assaulted before.  From what I understand it is virtually impossible, but if you know otherwise, I'm all ears.......

Exactly.

Legality is not the issue. Criminals don't follow laws. Everyone would be surprised how many guns are in cars.

My point was I try to be legal.  I know all the dirtballs are already carrying......

996 forks, BoomTubes, frame sliders, CRG bar-end mirrors, vizitech integrated tail light, rizoma front turn signals, rizoma grips, cycle cat multistrada clip ons, pantah belt covers - more to come

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary. H. L. Mencken

Yea there are, its about 15 feet wide and generally accepted to be 300' feet long and commonly refered to as the "sidewalk"

It was no accident.

good point, but part of the problem is if you don't know the street, you don't know where ppl pile up their trash -- everyone just puts it on the street.  i've parked at a pristine spot at night only to come back the next day and there is a 9 ft tall mountain of trashbags next to my car -- i have to get in from the passenger side.

there aren't designated "trash spots".  if you don't know the street, you can get screwed.

I remember a few times walking by during collection hours late at night and, because parking was literally bumper to bumper on the curbs, the garbage guys would just slide the trash bags on the tops of the hoods of cars to pass onto the double-parked garbage trucks.  [roll]

I'd have to agree unfortunately. One reason why I always liked the periodic downpour in the city.

I am guessing in your profession, you would legally qualify for a permit, correct?

jeebus..  i bet that happened more in the non-doorman areas of town.  fortunately, where i parked on the street was all doorman buildings and they would actually try to keep things civil.  never know whose car that is...

i remember my g/f getting something on her shoe in organic chem lab one day.
the shoe was stained a pretty cool shade of purple. they tried a few solvents to get it off, but it didn't do anything.

we tried scrubbing it witha f ew household cleaners and using bleach on the rubber parts that were stained. nothing.

in the 3 blocks from my apt to the subway in the rain the stain dissapeared.

no, there's nothing contaminating the run off from that city.... :o

The cleaners you tried had the wrong pH. ;)
