We all base our life on assumtions, it is natural instinct for survival and safety. Your assumptions are going to be more often correct than incorrect. If they weren't, you'd be dead.

If for example, i had a large group of people gathering at my street (and large groups make a LOT of noise unless they are monks), i would call the Police. I don't give a sht if the group is tree hugging hippies, the fact for me is in the past groups have left smashed beers bottles all over the road, the wife's Audi was keyed ALL the way around, vandalism to properies etc. I would want the cops tell them to move on.  If you guys don't mind large gatherings of strangers on the street, more power to ya  Smiley

BTW you do realise loitering is an offence yeah?

Your last point touches back onto the points i have made. The officers first on the scene i 'assume' called for backup which is why the other officers responded. Don't forget there is Occupational health and safety to adhear to on behalf of the Police. 2 Police vs large group is not safe. It only takes 1 idiot to insight a riot and you might have 20+ vs 2. It can take 4-5 officers to bring down an adrenaline filled psycho.

It is often Police tactic to use 2-3 officers to inspect trucks/cars on the roads despite there being only 1 driver. This is both safety and tactics. I don't see the issue with 10 cops turning up to a large gathering. Or are you suggesting (which it sounds like you are) that because the group is on bicycles it means they are less dangerous?

I think the Police deserve the benefit of the doubt.

However in saying all the above, if the 'entire truth' was each person was polite, squeaky clean and they still got fined and their tyres let down i entirely agree it is uncalled for. But hey, it's frigging Youtube, since when did that become Gospel LOL.

It's ironic i am singled out for making 'assumptions' yet you lot all 'assumed' from the second you watched the clip that it was Police abuse. I haven't made a decision 100% either way, it's just food for thought hopefully making those that were quick to judge on face value, that it's not always that simple.

Anyhoo i think i have more than made my case on this and there isn't anything really left to add so i'll leave the rest of you to make up your own minds.

THAT'S SOME FUNNY SHIT RIGHT THERE!
are you make the beast with two backsing serious?  [bang]you sure there's no drug warrants out against you? cause whatever you're on, i want some........yeah?
do you actually live in qld? cause the coppers will use pepper spray for giving them cheek, and if you disobey a direct instruction out come the tazers. oh yeah, that's right 4 or 5 with pepper spray and tazers. fascist bastards!
loitering may be an offense but can you seriously suggest it takes 10 cops to book people for loitering?
your naive outlook is refreshing, misguided and lacking in common sense, but refreshing, there's too many cynics here in qld........i wonder why? Roll Eyes

If I was manning the phones at a police call centre, and a Ducati-owning bloke rang up simply to report a gathering of people in their street, I have to say that I'd be making assumptions that the caller was a "skinny-decaf latte sipping, parked in pole position at the front of the trendiest cafe while wearing the latest Ducati merchandise" type of Ducati owner.

If we base our life on assumptions, that'd be my first.
