Scheese. No improvement since Rodney Rude was arrested for swearing on stage in the 80's.

As Rodney said, .... get pucked you crunts.

This from Wikipedia.......

He was arrested by Queensland police in the mid-1980s after offending officers during a show. He fought several long and expensive court cases defending his right to perform his show to adult audiences. His legal battle continued after police brought further obcenity charges in Western Australia where the case finally went to the full bench of the supreme court. Rodney won his court cases and all charges were quashed. After the Fitzgerald Inquiry against corruption (1987-89), set up to investigate police corruption in the state of Queensland, the police officer leading the case of obsenity against Rodney was jailed for corruption in an unrelated matter.

We don't have police in Victoria.....

They are now known as the Victorian Revinue Service, courtesy our current government......
Infringment notice books constantly updated, and always in supply.........
However the same cannot be said for laws and personal equipment.

That's my venting for today!

So that's why it's impossible to get a monster group ride together in Brisvegas.  If a group of pushbikes get that treatment what the hell would they do with a group of Ducs.   bang head  Suppose I can cross Qld off my list of next possible homes.

this is a classic example of the stupidity that arises when power hungry cretins get a badge! these morons couldn't find their own arse with a funnel and we're supposed to respect their authority? if these wankers in blue had any idea how little the public at large thought of them they would resign and get a job at Mc Donalds.
oh wait.... they're not qualified to work there, just get free food, that's right.
it's footage like that that makes me embarrassed to say i'm a qld'er, QUEENSLAND, THE SMART STATE! crikey! bang head

How pucking rediculous being not allowed to ride your bike because of a bell not being attached!
A freaking bell, they all had safety gear, lights helmets gloves etc.... But oh no you can't ride, No Bell!

Spoke to a guy at the track on Friday, he was looking at a really prudy 1198s saying that even tail tidys get
serious attention in QLD.
Why would you really want to live there with all of that going on.

there was an article in the paper this weekend about how respect for police has diminished, I believe that respect for almost everything in our society has diminished over the years....but some blame has to fall on certain members of the force for their behaviour with the public. All those officers achieved through that widely-distributed video was to create any anti-force sentimentality in a younger generation....and when the force needs them....they'll be so anti-cop they'll do whatever they have to to get back at em (not showing up for court, going to trials, being on the jury and voting against the state in the case, etc)

Ummm... beautiful weather, fishing, beaches, weather, Islands and the weather.
Just ignore, the crap roads, the parlous state of the health system and a fascist police force, and it's not too bad.

By the way, one or two bicyclists less on the roads isn't such a bad thing....

Unless there is a newspaper article that states the specifics shown on this clip, i think you guys jumped the gun a little.

The riders all look dodgey to me.

*Who decides to cycle at night?
*Who forms a decent sized group to go cycling at night?
*They are not harcore riders - casual clothes, bikes are crap so why are they out?
*Was there reported instances on this group already?
*Cops were pinging them for numerous things. You heard a couple of them were getting done for no bells.... ok ....so what are the others getting done for then?

10 cops don't just rock up to harrass cyclists for not having bells. 10 cops turn up because riders have outstanding warrants, drug arrests, backup required etc. They would have had good reason to have 10 Police present as the extra officers would have been called in from the initial officers.

I could be wrong but that is what i picked up from watching that clip.

The p-oh-lice, at the behest of our(Im a Queenslander) beloved Captain Bligh(bringer of stricter LAM's and Fark-off-stupid bikie laws, all hail) are simply cracking down on minorities, as both politicians(from the latin words poly, meaning many, and ticks: a blood sucking parasite) and police seem to love to do in the sunshine state.

Case in point: my mate got done for 36km over: $466, 6 points. Me riding my duc alone(not dangerously, or even fast) $306 1 point. My other mate: Driving whilst on mobile phone: "Dont do it again". Case closed.

Welcome to Queensland, the weathers fine.... But the traffic, the pollies and some of the police force is just plain farked mate.

Ill see you all on the twisties!

I hear what you are saying SG, and the thought did cross my mind that all we might be getting is one side of the story!! (The current affairs shows are always editing their filming to portray to the public what THEY the program, want to get across, regardless of the facts! Roll Eyes )

But, I think as stated at the beginning of the Vid, this is/was part of a global bike ride with all people riding at the same time all over the world!! (Heinous crime that??  Shocked )
And I didnt see any of the cyclists with axes strapped across their backs, or sticks of gelignite strapped to their waists?? Huh?

It does appear to be overkill on the part of the Plods.Cheeezus, if that many Cops turned up at once to a scene here in Vic(nanny state)toria they would have had to close 3/4 of the metro Cop Shops.  Roll Eyes  cheeky
