So, 2 weekends ago, I took a 150 mile round trip on a warm, windy, Wisconsin spring day. Unbeknownst to me, it turns out that there were gusts of up to 60MPH. When I got home, I noticed no cowl, gone (with the wind), one bolt and bracket were still attached so it really just ripped right off. The more I look at my cowl-less bike, the more I like it. Has this happened to anyone else? You go cowl-ed or nekkid?

I lost my cowl on the way to work a couple of weeks ago. The more I look at the bike without it, the more I want my damed cowl back!! It's one of my very favorite aesthetic parts of the bike... I just gotta get some spending money together to get another one.

I rode for awhile without the cowl, but then I started to think that the overall look of the bike seemed a little unbalanced.  I like the cowl on because it seems to add weight to the back, not physical but visual, if that makes any sense.

I wouldn't think a cowl would just rip off like that in high wind, I'd think the thumb screws would hold it on tight enough.  Very weird.  I guess the wind gets underneath and lifts it up?

Sorry, but under no circumstances what so ever do our bikes look good without the seat cowl.

I didn't know how much I liked it until I took mine off.

Hmmm... if it's off to accommodate a good looking passenger?

As much as I dislike Corbin...their seat improves the look of the cowl-less Monster...the rear has a nice tapered scalloped effect where the passenger would sit

I lost my cowl the same way,  but the bolts vibrated out on a spirited ride.  Stupid things are expensive.
