I was reading an article in Cycle World(October 2010), when a thought occurred to me. the article was on the fix for low RPM stumbling and surges on the Street fighter due to the lean fuel mapping. The article described the problem and the fix ad it was cheaper than the alternative that most people have been to Ducatis for years!! People have been fixing the Ducati issue for years!! Rumbling on...if this had been a car issue, the Ducati company would have issued a recall and fix. have we just been accepting a faulty system and doing the fixes ourselves? Or.... is it part of the company's plan to sell us aftermarket fixes in the way of the ECU and pipes, since these seem to fix the issue! just a thought. Opinions?

Your Ducati, my Ducati, anybody's new Ducati runs like crap down low coz they run lean to pass emissions regualtions.  Its not a "fault" to be fixed by recall, its a requirement that they are obliged to comply with in order to obtain homologation.  Unlike the regulated manufacturer, you on the other hand are (more or less  ;)) free to modify for a more satisfactory outcome.

My 900SS is the same way, but I just work around it.  A properly set up Power Commander or similar will take good care of that problem ~

Povidius, the fix and the cycle world mag calls it "quick fix," was Bazzaz Z-Fi fuel control unit $399.95. Ungeheuer, very true, I have to love with it, so I will fix it to my liking. [thumbsup]
