I can get behind spreading pictures of would-be bike thieves 'round the net a little.

There was a post from someone over there with a familiar looking bike in their avatar.

His name was RDUButtBandit or something like that.

How do we know they were actually caught trying to steal a bike and not the butt of a bad joke? The original poster didn't provide any corroborating evidence, or links so we're just taking his word for it.

I'm a member on the local forum for Deals Gap.  The owner was setting on the porch you see in a couple of pics with the bike parked down in front of the porch.  They guy just walked up and picked up his gloves, put them on and was preparing to get on the bike.

The owner (unknown to the thief) yelled from the porch "Hey, what are you doing?"  Thief responded "The owner of told me to take to take his bike for a spin."  Then the porch emptied and I'm very surprised there wasn't a parking lot beat-down.

There are cameras that show this happening at the store the porch is attached to ~

i am extremely surprised that the alleged perpetrators didn't "accidently  trip" a few time and hurt themselves on the way going to their car before the police arrived after the locals saw that they were trying to steal a bike..

"i could have sworn that they tripped on some rocks a few time and hit their head on the ground a few times when they went to their car"

You know, sometimes there are things about the internet I don't like. The hacking of personal info and how it can be blasted all over the world wide web and you never know it until the damage is done. Stuff like that. But there are times like this that I really appreciate the ability for info to instantly be everywhere. Like the civil riots in Iran where the gov't abused and even killed some opposition protestors. And those videos made it onto the internet right then and there. The same is true in this instance. I love the fact that pictures of them and their car license plate number has spread like wildfire! waytogo They can run (or in this case be released by police) but they cannot hide! Evil Brought down by the internet. Sweeeet! applause popcorn

I also HATE thieves!!! Angry

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.
