Removing cooolant overflow/reserve tank on S4Rs. Easy way?

I want to remove the coolant reservoir to paint it black to it will disappear into the bike, but it looks impossible to get out without removing a bunch of other nonsense.  Any tips?  It's an 07 S4Rs.

Don't know for sure but those look to be made from polyethylene plastic. Paint won't adhere to it.

The proper adhesion promoter will help.

I removed mine and replaced it with a dirtbike overflow container which I hide behind the right radiator shroud.  Alternatively, you could put it behind the steering stem.



Later, I removed the airbox, and did a little more tinkering.  I like the view through the bike:

I went through the same problem.  I had to remove the throttle bodies to get it out.  I read through a lot of adhesion promoter / painting plastic info / some threads on boiling the tank in black dye - also the low expansion coolant, thinking I could eliminate the tank completely - and ended up like above getting the smaller black dirtbike overflow tank and mounting it up by the headstock (no airbox) with zip ties until I can figure out a better way to attach it.  I also tried a 748 upper tank but I could not get it to fit in the S4Rs frame.  I'd like to know how you do.
