I know there was a member here that dealt with vinyl wrap and was trying to find him.  I got some slight scratches on the hood of my show/drag truck from a push broom being pulled across it.  I have tried everything to get these out and if anyone knows how particular I am...this is driving me nuts.

I was thinking of doing a matte black vinyl wrap for the hood and was trying to find someone here to assist or point in the right direction.  I figured the wrap would be different and if I don't like it I can always remove it in the future.

Here is the truck.

Thanks.

Did you try wetsanding and buffing?

Artful , He did my vinyl wrap on my front forks. He knows about viny wraps, I have seen him around MAD FB page. Tryin sending him a PM.

I've used vinyl wrap quite a bit, it's really simple to put on. Definitely a hell of a lot easier to do on a truck hood than on a set of forks!

You can order the vinyl from these guys...

The only things you'll need is a heat source, like a hair dryer if you don't have a heat gun, and a razor blade to clean things up. The vinyl from them is high quality and looks great!

I have only done it on track fairings....I am not going to test my skills on this truck.  I am fine with a buffer, but harsher abrasives and a DA can be tricky.  This is not a vehicle I want to learn on.

Fords usually have tons of orange peel, I can do it , just gotta check when i am not working.

This sounds like work for a Porter Cable, especially if you can't feel the scratches as you run your hand over them. I totally understand not wanting to learn on your truck and if you get your hands on a test piece, you can def hone the needed skillz to remove the scratches from the hood.

btw- nice truck [thumbsup]
Don't argue with idiots. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

And the sugar fountain fairy swore so hard when she came to super-size that stale hope soybean; liiiike a homeless German woman. Who is this super-sizing spirit-crushing femme? And tell her I'll break a tree root up in her shrimp.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw thatâ€"it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

Been as fast as 10.85 / 127 mph 1/4 mile.  Runs consistent 11.011-11.017 on current setup.  Drive to track as it sits, make some suspension adjustments and air down the tires.  Essentially a true low 11 sec 4800lb street truck, tagged, insured, air, heat, pwr locks, doors, cat convertors,  mufflers, and DOT tires(MT ET Street radial 315/60/15 on 15x10.5 Bogarts :) )

It transfers off the front well and the rear suspension lifts the body driving the tires into the pavement...Tires wrinkle up well for 1.48 60 foots
