Monsters in the Smokies

My brother and I will be headed down for our twice-annual trip to the Smokies next weekend. We'll be down there from the 18th-21st, and will hit Deals Gap, Cherohala Skyway, Hwy 28, The park itself, and also have some fun in Gatlinburg...Last fall when we were down that way, there were hundreds of bikes...but I was the only Monster. Tons of R1s, CBRs, Harleys...but very few Ducatis.

Just curious...anyone from this forum planning to be in the vicinity next weekend?

I am near. Not sure what's going on, but Deals Gap to Gatlinburg & home is an easy day ride for me. Not to mention, I just got my M750 back in ridable condition too.

Depending on what area you're coming from, you'll pass through my backyard. There are 4 different points to access the Blue Ridge Parkway within about 35 minutes of my driveway.

We're from Illinois, so we'll come through Knoxville and drop down to Townsend TN where we are staying. We were planning to skip the BRP this year...

Depending upon the weather, we'll likely spend the 19th on the Dragon, the 20th on NC 28, and the 21st on the Cherohala...if you'd like to join for any of those days, let me know...I have a keen eye for M750s

It's an awesome ride from my house to Townsend or the DGMR. How early are you planning on leaving out on Sat.

JM...sorry for any confusion I may have caused, but it is this upcoming weekend that we will be down there...if you go back to my OP, you will see I meant the 18th-21st...but I also said 'next weekend'...so I apologize.

At any rate, maybe I can give you an excuse to hit Deals Gap two weeks in a row?
