Next Set of Mods - Suggestions for 05 S2R800

Bike is looking good man.  I gotta get some of my mods done so mine doesn't look bad parked next to yours, lol.

A couple small suggestions:
I noticed your speedymoto sprocket cover is still all silver.  You should try and get that powdered yellow to match the belt covers on the other side.  Also, I see you still have your frame sticker on the brake side.  You should peel it off so it doesn't ugly up the frame.  I took mine off a while back and it was pretty easy.  The only time consuming part was getting the remaining glue off, but I used some goof-off.

Hey, btw, weren't you going to wrap your forks?  Just wondering because I thought you already did it.  I haven't done mine yet since I'm working on getting my parts powdered, but I plan on doing it pretty soon hopefully.

I've got a couple other goodies in the hosue awaiting addition.  I've got gold colored nuts/bolts that have to be added, new gold rizoma resevoirs and a gold rear sprocket.  Thanks for hte tip on the sticker, should be easy to remove.  Not sure what I am going to do with the front sprocket.

I dare say or write on this the forum that my Ducati mod project is complete.  So here goes nothing, I think I'm finally done modding her out.  

When I got her she looked like this.  There was absolutely nothing wrong with her from day 1.  She rode like a champ but I wouldn't be me if I didn't start tinkering with it.  


BGB had done a lot of the $$$ work on her.  BGB shipped the bike to me with resprung forks from GP Suspension, an adjustable rear shock from Penske, Brembo goldline brakes, rear wave rotor, a 14T front sprocket, Speedymoto frame sliders and belt covers and a ton of other parts and bits.  


Here's what happened to PROZAC now TICKET since getting her in October 2010.  

I removed the stock front fender and replaced it with a carbon fiber front fender from an 848.  I liked the stock fender but the 848 one looks a bit more aggressive for me and to me liking.  Next I removed the stock headlight and threw on the dual headlights that I purchased from MonsterParts.com.  I added CRG lanesplitter mirrors , Rizoma sportline grips and rectangular turn signals. The stock levers were replaced with CRG gold annodized ones with radial master cyclinders from an 08 848.  Much better feel, braking is 100 times better and has a serious bite to it.  The stock reservoirs were replaced with gold annodized resevoirs from Rizoma.  I also added Rizoma gold annodized bar end caps for some additional bling.  My ECU was sent off the Houston Superbikes to be reflashed to be have the race setup installed and the immobilzer removed. The stock gas tank was replaced with an Oberon gas tank cover/cap that was powdercoated black and yellow to match the bike.  The stock rearset was replaced with one from 4Racing.  Much improved ergonomics.  I added a carbon fiber rear hugger and replaced the stock tail light/signals with a Light Werks LED tail light with turn signals.  To top her off I added a gold annodized Evo clutch slave cyclinder,  SSR rear sprocket and a Monza belly pan painted yellow with a black stripe.

After all these mods, I feel like she's absolutely perfect although I know some will disagree  .  I could wrap the forks, powdercoat the swingarm, find a cool way to hide all the wires, get some BST wheels or a host of other things, she just feels right the way she's currently setup.  Now to ride the hell out of her and enjoy the twisties in the area.

BTW - did you go from a 15mm coffin reservoir to the new radial?
I ask because I went from a 16mm coffin to a radial and I'm not overwhelmed.
Better? Sure, but I think the upgrade from stock master to 16mm and calipers/rotors was much more important.

It can be done, but the lever travel might be a little long.
Shouldn't be an issue - especially if the free-play is adjusted to a minimum (, but not less than minimum)

The question I raise with my, vs Mad's, experience - is that going from 15 to 16mm coffin may be significant.

I haven't raced my radial yet, but the only difference I can detect is "feel" - which just might not be worth it for the street (YMMV)

For me it all came down to feel/comfort  With my stockers, the brake lever travel was longer and the feel when braking was absent.  With the Rizoma's I think there's a BIG difference. Applying the brake only take a smidge of pressure to the lever.  Additionally, I get a much better feel from the brakes now with these master cyclinders.  Are they a little too much for the street, one might say so but I like the feel and responsiveness of the brakes.  As for hte clutch, no big difference when I made the switch.  I think the only thing I would say was that finding the sweet spot is a tad bit easier to locate.  Other than that no big difference.

I can see the photos but they're really dark. Buy yourself a case of lighbulbs as your next mod on your bike that's "done".

I rarely sing the praises of a mechanic but Chris Saunders at Battley Cycles did a great job with my bike.  He turned the FAAACCCCKKKK out of my S2R800.  This bad boy is now pumping 77BHP to the rear wheel and he installed a Dobeck TFI with a custom fuel map.  Now the bike will pump gas based on throttle position and RPM. 
Now she responsive throughout the entire RPM range.

If you're in the DC area and have some coin to drop on your Monster.  Don't get a PCIII.  Let Chris rock your bikes world with a Dobeck TFI.
