You probably have rectangular 'coffin' reservoirs on your master cylinders.

They won't have enough clearance when mounted on (most) clip ons.

These will solve that issue.....

Also, you might have to drill holes for the controls....
.... or grind off the nubs that go into the holes.
People claim the controls will stay in place if you cover the steering bars with some tape before re-innstalling.

No, you'll need the extra room to adjust them to their correct ergonomical position.

I had coffins and clip-ons.  However, my clip-ons were UNDER the triple, that might make the difference.

No, AFAIK it's the bar pinch clamp (clip) that is hitting the reservoir.
With some applications (under the triple and no risers) maybe there's interference with the top triple as well, but that's not the usual case.
On older Monsters, with same size (small) brake/clutch reservoirs, there are SOME clip ons that will not require spacers - although I think they still won't allow proper rotational adjustment.

For the price, maybe it's worth trying?

Yea, I'd try it for the price!  The only issue I had was difficult with the lines coming off the reservoirs hitting the headlight ears.  I had make some concessions there on adjustment.
