Sorry for the newbie question.  Im just curious how many miles you guys on 1100's  are getting. Ive only got 3800, and ive begun to feel some rear wheel slip?
Ite getting warm here in NY, and Ive felt the rear come loose a few times last week. It may have been on lane dividers. Im a pretty calm rider.. so I definetly was not hard on the gas. Any thoughts? feedback?  what have giys switched to? are you happy with your new tire selection?

I've got a 1000, and got 2500 out of the stock Bridgestone rear. I switched to Pilot powers and not only do they feel better, but last to about 4k.

Clearly you where doing way too many burn outs. I've ran approximately 10K on both new bike stock-er Bridgestones. I'm not aggressive, and I may have pushed the milage slightly, but I was confident with both way past 7K.

I have been getting around 4000 or so on the Pirelli Diablos.  We'll see how many I get on the Conti Motions.  I usually wear out the sides before the middle...

Im not on stock tires, but I have over thousand miles on my contis and I still have the tread markers.

so it looks like a few of you have switched before 4k?  has anyone tried dunlops on a duc?  I had them on my r1, loved them.. but im open to suggestion.

I had a set of Qualifiers on my M750, only got about 2000 miles and really didn't like the flatter profile of the rear either.

I have a 696 and got 800 miles out of the original rear tire.  Of course the nail I ran over caused that.  I replaced it with the same tire and got about another 5000 or so out of it but I pushed it and it should have been replaced at least a few hundred miles before I did.  I replaced the front and rear about the 5800 mile mark.  Of course I ran over a very small sharp object causing me to have to replace the rear tire again a couple weeks ago.  So far about 10k miles and I am on my 4th rear tire and second front tire.

I have 5600 miles on the oem tires on my 696, and they are still ok. You can see that the middle is starting to flat spot a bit since I commute on my bike daily and rarely have a chance to hit the twisty stuff, but they are still very useable for now.

i'm guessing you have the pirelli diablos as the stock 1100 tire?

i've got around 3200 miles on mine on my 796 right now and they're still going really strong.  i'm figuring i might be able to get around 5ish k from them, and the front looks brand new basically.  but then again, you have a 1100 and its heavier and with the extra power comes extra tire wear if you're riding aggressive.

you cant really compare mileage to the 696 oe tire from a 796/1100 though, the 696 comes with st tires... pirelli angels or some other ones.

my 696 came with BT016r's and I'm at about 3300mi.  I'm down to the wear bar in the middle of the rear tire.  The sides have a bit more left in them, but not a ton.  I've done 2 track days on them and the rest has been normal street riding.  I was just thinking of putting new tires on this weekend, but can't decide on what to go with.

I have an 1100s, I got 2800 miles out of the rear and 4K out of the front on stock BT016's. Admitedly i am hard on the rear (I like to power wheelie in 2nd), the front was completely worn out on the sides but still had quite a bit of center tread left. I went with BT016's again although am not really impressed with them. I LOVED my Corsa III's on my S2R1K and averaged 2500 on the rear, and 5K on the front with those. I amgoing to go with Pilot Power front and Pilot Road (2) rear with my next set of tires. I have heard REALLY good things about this. I know DUCSRFUN went with Pirelli Angel ST's on his ST4s and got like 4800 miles out of a rear on that. Big Twins are just especially hard on rears...

the_Journeyman

I've got Angels on my 900SS.  Funny thing is, I'm harder on the front than the rear with it.
