I am moving this weekend from Memphis to Bryson City, NC. I found a shop in Ashville, but was wondering if anyone knows someone outside of a dealership that is around the area.

I know a Honda dealer in Boone that is well versed on 2V ducs, because the owner is a buddy of mine and a Duc dude...

Ask Journeyman what he does

There's this good 'ol boy in Waynesville with a 2-bay garage.   He evicts a vehicle and works on the Monster in the empty bay.  He's not done any deep motor work or even split a tranny, but can do valves & belts and basic maintenance items.  He's handy with a rattle can too.

Rides a Monster that looks like this:

By the way, welcome to the mountains!  Lots of good roads right in your backyard!

i can split the cases for you.   not sure i'll put 'em back together right, but i can get 'em apart with very little fuss. (i got the right tools for that half of the job, but not yet for the "put it back together" half of the job)

I won't be doing anything major (anytime soon) Looking to save a few bucks on doing the valves on the S4.
Right now I have a major electrical problem I haven't been able to hunt down. Can't keep my main fuse from blowing out. You think you could help me solve it? With the move I'm real short on funds, but I need to get it done before the cold weather hits! The bike is not going anywhere right now, and I do not have a truck to transport it...In a tough spot...

My wife and I are considering getting a home in Waynesville. Right now we have signed a six month lease on the one in Bryson City.

Looking forward to the roads up there. I hear they are some of the best ones in the US!

I know an owner of  BellissiMoto in Knoxville. He worked here in Memphis for a while just before starting the shop up there. It's about a two hour drive from where I'll be...

Check the wiring harness - to - frame ground connection

the_Journeyman

I'm not great with electrical, but basic trouble shooting is just to start following wires.  Look for anything chaffed or rubbed and see if it is causing a short.

I've never worked on a 4-valver before, so I'm not 100% I could do it right.  I'm sure if you have the LT Synder book, it's doable with the tools I have.  I used his book to learn my 2-valve motor with no problems.
