I lowsided my 696 at about 25mph and did $5800 in damage. including the frame, swingarm, bars, right rearset/brake, and the right fork.  The frame damage  (the tank mounts bent SLIGHTLY) alone wrote off the bike, Progressive pays dollar for dollar on all accessories, so they ended up cutting me a check because the aftermarket doodads raised the total value above the writeoff limit.  Depending on what you have bolted on the bike, they might just repair it...but per Ducati...ANY frame damage is a new frame, and if you look at the alignment gap between the keyguard and the triple, theres clearly frame damage.  (admitedly, its probably not enough to change the handling of the bike)

So do you guys think that I should buy it as a salvage from the insurance company? Can I resell it with a salvage title? It is still a "brand new bike" with ZERO miles on it.

i say take the money and buy a new bike.  that's why you pay for insurance.  not so you have to deal with a crappy broken bike.

Somewhere down the road if you decide to sell your bike and it has a salvaged title you will regret it. Almost nobody wants to buy a bike with a "story". You can explain all you want, but it still has a story and that will work against you.

New bike.
