As a quick addition to this great tutorial, I wanted to point out that there is an alternative way of getting the sleeve off the left can.
I used a steel tube about 5 ft long, just smaller in diameter than the inlet of the can and then immobilized the can (bench vise, under something heavy, etc) and gently used the steel tube as a lever to bend the inlet pipe more straightened until the sleeve could clear and slide off. The same method was used to re-bend the inlet pipe once the core/chop was done and the sleeve was back on.
No cutting, took 30 seconds and worked great.
