Ive had r6's, cbr 929 and a 2002 r1.  Im telling you that my monster 1100 feels faster than all of them. The neck snapping torque is unlike anything ive ever riden. INSTANT POWER when you twist the wrist. None of that wind it up, lawn mower, weed wacking, high end shrill. Just raw manly GRUNT.  You might miss the high end speeds, your not going any faster than 135 or so.  But the monster has no fairing, so getting the bike up to around that point, or beyond really isnt as exhilirating as on a sports bike with wind protection.  Thats my 2 cents.

thanks for that, honestly. I don't care about going over 135 anymore. I love being on two wheels because I love the feeling I get...thats it. If the monster is fun as hell, that's really all I care about.

Then your gonna love the 1100evo. It's just a all around fun bike. The pull and torque is intoxicating. I can't wait till I'm off duty tomorrow! It's not going to be raining!!!! I don't care where I ride too as long as I'm on the duc.

second that, the 1100 is no slouch.  Just enough power to scare you a little if you grab the loud handle too hard... Evil

plus I like the abs...take or leave the traction control as others have said, but you can switch that off easily enough.

thank you for that, sir. I assume that I would get the same feeling out of an s4r as well, or is that engine completely different in terms of being perfectly balanced like the 1100?

the s4r is going to run a lot like a streetfighter 848, the 4-valve engines are rev happy and peaky like the inline 4's

but the 2 valve engines have oodles of torque down low, so it feels like the throttle response is insane, where as you would have to wind up the 4-valve engines up to get any power
