I need a new rear tire for my 94 M900 , and i think i will order the  Metzeler Z8 Interact 180 /55 . Can it cause any clearing problems or other issues if i install the 180/55 rear tire instead of the original size 170 /60 ?

clearance....probably not....you may notice a difference in some of the handling dynamic...but there should be no clearance issue.

If you still have the OEM hugger, check clearance between it and the tire.

In my experience the 180 is the perfect size for a 5.5" rim on a Monster.

There are no clearance issues with the stock plastic hugger, and I don't think you'll have any with an aftermarket unit either.

There's been a 180 on my 900 since I picked it up. No issues
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

180/55 M5  on the rear of my s4 since yesterday, replacing the 180/55 racetec k3, only because I want a slightly longer lasting donut. might get 4000 out of the M5.

180/55 is an ideal size and compliments the 120/70 front very well. Turn-in is good, directional change quick and straight line stability is also good.

Thanks , thats good to hear  [thumbsup] I have been in my garage and checked , and there is very good clearence to the hugger with my 170 / 60 tire . Today i also installed a new self made lisence plate holder , 20 gauge shotgun shell tailplugs and a pair off cheap ebay levers .Now its time for  [drink] Happy easter folks

180 on the rear is good, but watch some 180 tyres like the Dunlop 180 Q2s, they flare out closer to a 190 size and only just fit with chain clearance.
Its good you are checking with forum members for their experience of different brands of 180 tyre. I found some Pirelli 180s more like 170s.
Interesting how it varies for the same size.

I did notice how WIDE even the 160 Qualifier looked on my M750.  It looked more like a 180.  The 170 Pirelli Angel on my 900SS looked narrower than the 160 Qualifier.
