check the reg/rectifier -stator plug for a burn mark

ccm900

Busy week, doesn't look like ill be able to get to it myself until Saturday :/
Using the family car to get to work for now. Now I remember why I end up taking things to a mechanic to fix, when its something like this and I need to get on the road ASAP that's the fastest (and usually most expensive) way!

Ok, found a few fuses, 7.5 ignition fuse that was blown, and a 10a fuse that was out. Going to replace those. But what the heck is this and where does it go? I've never seen it sitting out open like that. Is that possibly touching my steel tank when its down and blowing the fuse? I'll eletrical tape it so its not touching anything but I dont know where it goes?

I checked the wires from the regulator/rectifier and nothing looks burnt at the connectors. But I didnt put the 30a fuse in with it disconnected to see if its the problem

Being a red wire it is definitely a power wire, but I don't see any signs of it arcing. Taping it is a good idea.

The 7.5 A fuse being blown would explain why it won't run. What is the 10 A fuse marked?

There is no marking on the cover for the 10a fuse? Not sure

ccm900

Just put in a new 7.5a ignition fuse and the 30a fuse after taping off that wire, smelt smoke and both popped. I don't get this electrical stuff, what now?

Disconnect the regulator as suggested before and replace the fuses and try again.

Anyone have any experience with this one?

I've had it for...

15K miles maybe...maybe longer.

Electrosport is a good brand and ca-cycleworks is a great vendor.

Sounds like I can't go wrong with either one

Ordered the part last week and decided to take the bike in to my mechanic. I was going to have him do the valves and some other things for me anyways so I figured I'd just have him do this for me as well. My dad offered me his bike as a means for transportation until its done...I'm pretty excited!

I have no Idea! All I know is its a 92 I think 851, with fairings off a 888. Way different then my monster. Not nearly as much torque on the low end. But once I gets up there it screams. It's deceivingly fast
