So, the left front fork must be a little upset as it's developed a somewhat smallish, but consistent weep.

I haven't really worried about it for a while, but since it doesn't seem to want to fix itself (why not I have no idea...), I suppose I had better look into it.

What is a reasonable amount to expect to get (ripped, ahem) charged for new seals / oil etc? (S4RS = Ohlins forks)

Hey Dan

Dmoto did the fork seals on my old Monster $150 (plus seals which i supplied about $20 each from Frazers??)
About a 2 hour job .(included Shaun also machined up two spring spacers to as there was now more adjustment left for sag).

Dmoto  bow down bow down

North Sydney area.

Thanks Rob, I might just give them a call.

Only other thought is; if I'm going to the trouble, should I go the whole hog & have them re-sprung for my 95kg'ish weight......?

The springs on the S4RS are fairly firm, but I'm told that its set up from the factory for slight Italians of around 75kg's. any experience with this, anyone................?

I resprung my 695 998 forks. I bought the Ohlins springs from Desmoclinic in West Ryde.

Well worth the dough. Something in there really transformed the bike, though I'm not sure which of 998 forks, clip ons, correct springs, 999 shock or goldline four pot brakes it was, to be honest.

I'm not sure exactly what the RS forks have in them as far as springs, but at ~95kg I'd keep new springs in mind as an option.

You replaced all the low-rent stuff with proper kit, transformed is a good word.

Thanks Speedog & suzyj.

I've been quoted (from Northside) somewhere in the vacinity of $460 for the seals , oil & labour. Quite some time ago now, I spoke to James Zeno at Zeno Damper & he quoted 'in the vacinity of $1,000' for a full internal rebuild to suit.

Any experiences with these prices, good, bad or spot on?

Forks should be fine,  from memory 1kg/mm rear might be a little soft. Go to the racetech site they have a calculator that'll help you work it out. I redid mine and I agree it's the best dollars spent. Took a couple of seconds a lap off at QR and then some more when I fitted Supercorsa SC2s.

Hi MonsterDorf, that's what the guys at D Moto said over the phone too.......

I think I'll be booking myself into their workshop over the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for everyone's input - really appreciated.
