How on earth do I subscribe to a topic/thread?

I'm the member of dozens of other forums covering a wide range of subjects so I'm definately not a n00b to the forum experience.

I cannot for the life of me figure out:

1) how to subscribe to a topic I want to follow
2) Locate the list of subscribed topics that I have subscribed to

Why is this forum so different?

Most forums use vbulletin. We use SMF...we are different and like it that way.

To subscribe to a topic click the notify button at the bottom of the page. An email will be sent to the addy in your profile when someone posts.

To view the list of topics you've subscribed to go to your profile/notifications and email/, and the list will be there.

What's so hard about that?

Ahhh... completey different terminology but essentially the same. Just wasn't clicking for me yesterday.

also if you post in a thread it's like subscribing in the way that you just click on the "show new replies to your post" link above..
