Snapped throttle cable

So as I sit here stranded I need to ask if anyone has a throttle cable for an older monster they can part with? I'm in the Baltimore area and would love to pick one up tomorrow. Speeds was very helpful (sarcasm). 2000 M750 carbed

Bicycle or dirt bike shops may have repair kits: generic length cable with screw on cap you set at the right spot.

On the topic, does your 750 seem to be weaping oil out of everywhere except the wheels?

Repaired the cable end. Soldered a brass lug on it. The only oil leak I had was out of the oil pressure sender. Replaced and no more leaks.

The lug broke?!  Ah well, good on you for a cheap fix.  How many miles?

Don't know for sure. My estimate is around 27k. Removed the cables and throttle from the bike disassembled, cleaned, lubed and reassembled on the bench. Started raining. Bah

Nice work! I definitely approve of the cost.  Yeah I've got 27k on mine too.

This is the method I used. Worked great! Do NOT get the flux on your skin....hydrochloric acid. Also be careful how far you dip the cable. It will wick up the strands and make it solid. Our throttle cables bend in a circle immediately after the cable stop so that would suck. Tested first on an old bicycle cable with a spare brass cable stop.
