It was bound to happen. Yesterday in Malibu Canyon on Piuma road. My speed, overconfidence and the road were not a good mix. i was  [moto] when i cam in to a turn too hot with my butt square on the seat. Too much lean with, what I'm told, aggressive acceleration lead to my rear end sliding out. Me and Cat went sliding right in to the adjacent hill (thank goodness).  My only injury is a scratched pinky and bruised confidence. The S2R has a broken shift lever, shaved kickstand, chipped tank, and various scratches.

The worst part, after it happened, everytime I came to a turn I freaked out. I lost all my moxy, help.....  :'(
Everytime I'm on two wheels, the streets part, heavens open, and hearts pound

The heart pounding is true, at least...

I'm hoping Cat is your bike and not a girl that you lost along the way since nothing mentioned of Cat's injuries. At least you were able to pick it up and ride on home. Only thing that helps you get your confidence back is time in the saddle gradually pushing back to where you were. But remember that it's a canyon and that road conditions aren't perfect. Don't push too hard on the street.

The end is in sight! Gotta buckle down and get to work!

That sucks man, be glad you walked away and are able to talk about it.  That's a good sing in and of itself.  As for the confidence, only saddle time will cure that.  Fix up the bike, take it easy up in the hills and do a track day or two.  You'll be back to normal in no time (not sure if that's such a good thing now)  ;)

in concur about "Cat."  hope you're doing OK and took a minor get-off (It sounds) as a learning opportunity.

As for losing confidence.. me too after my incident.  Just takes time really.  At least I hope that's all it takes.

My fast lap is your sighting lap.

MM, sorry to hear about your get-off.  Glad you are alright, but now you need to get that bike together so we can ride the Crest when my Monster is in.  Your moxy awaits you on the Crest.

to continue thread jack, are you planning on going to Cafe Desmo Sat Sept 6?  I should be there with new bike and Julia should be there on her J-Spec Monster! (Julia Spec)
