thanks alot everyone. i think what he tells me was true- about setting the cams and what not. and yeh the filter was a k+n, and ngk are probly the most expensive plugs around.... and yes the oil is fully synthetic. i think i can feel confident enough to go back there. although i will tell them to give me a brekdown of the quote, rather than " a monster? 40 000? $850."

Did he put a new filter in? Did you already have a K&N? Those are essentially lifetime filters (1Million mile) and just need to be cleaned. Even if he put a new one in there, it shouldn't have cost $100, even with the exchange rate...

Those should only be $11 each. Hell, I wouldn't have to pay $50 for the 4 that are in my bike....
