Offered a Deal

Ok so here's the deal.   Sold the frame to my crashed s2r1k quite some time ago, plus a good bit of other parts to an old DML member.  Well we made the deal a long damn time ago.   He's paid in installments and I've sent bits at a time, so everything's worked out fine so far.   Where we stand now is that he still owes me 200 bucks before i ship the frame, but he offered up an Arrow steering damper and/or a set of speedymoto open belt covers.  (I'm not sure if he was offering one or the other, or both)

I feel no particular need for either Item.....certainly not so much that I would go buy one or the other new, so I ask the DMF.....should I take the damper, the bling belt covers, both, or just take the 200 bucks cash?

Edit:   BTW...of course i'd prefer getting both...if i went with a trade over cash......i'm just wondering if it's way too much to ask, or expect

I'm holding off voting until you tell me that you still ride and the damper would fit.  A good condition damper for $200 is a pretty good deal.

I say try to get both out of him and if you don't want them you can sell them for much more than $200.

Just the damper.  What's fair is fair.  Don't worry about being screwed on the one hand while plotting to get more value out of (screwing) him than is fair.  There is a time and place for everything.  This is not the time/place for one handed screwing.  Just my $.014 of course.

Damper only if it is in good shape and functions properly if you decided to trade.

If you don't need it though just ask for your 200.00 nothing wrong with that either.

If you want the damper and it works, thats a fine deal. The open belt covers are pointless (i.e. no performance value at all, waste of money), since belt covers are optional anyway. If you want the naked look, taking your covers off is free.

That's what I was thinking.

Thanks yall.  I was trying to get a idea of what would be a good deal.  (not trying to screw anyone now)  but would there be any real benefit to getting the damper considering the fact that i'm moving to Miami (no twisties) and will be too broke / won't have the time for a track day since I'll be in grad school?

I would not be so quick to discount the value of a damper in SoFla. I have personally seen some knuckleheads on US27 at very high rates of speed start to get wobbly.

If you are moving soon, it sounds like some extra cash would come in handy.
