Anyone have a resource for break caliper rehab?  I have a set of calipers I bought and they are cosmetically subpar and probably could use a rebuild (if there is such a thing).

Any chance this is something a guy with my limited mental abilities could swing myself?

Suggestions, thoughts, or comments?

FYI Tokico 4 piston/4pad gold calipers from an 04' GSXR 1000.

Need paint and service/rebuld if possible.

I have a bid on a cleaner set but won't know until Friday.

I bought a set of forks and the guy threw in the ugly calipers.  I couldn't say no but know that I've had time to look them over I don't want to take a chance with suspect breaks.  Forks being sent out for build ASAP so trying to get the bits together for the fork swap.

maybe something like this:

http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?itemID=412&itemType=CATEGORY

And the calipers might just need cleaning/ copper greasing, but yes ATTN Speeddoggggggggggggggg Grin

Talked to my man that does the GSXRZXCBRYZR bike stuff full time....

Rebuild kits are available from Suzuki, about $75 per caliper. Wheeeeee....

He said that unless they're leaking, just disassemble, clean, mask, paint, clean, reassemble.

I appologize...  It won't happen again.  Since my tokicos went under the rail with the rest of the bike, and the Duc has Brembos!!! Yay!!!

Thanks for the heads up BD.  I won a fresher pair on ebay and am awaiting arrival.  If they are not up to spec I'll hit you up.
