hello folks,
i finally bought my first ducati and i couldn't be any happier. i found an '02 S4 Fogarty at Pro Italia in Glendale. after test riding it for the second time on sunday, i went with my gut and bought it. i've owned 3 bmw's since '94 when i bought the first year of the R1100GS. then came my boxer cup replika (R1100S) which got me into a bit more sportier performance. i sold the GS and was on the market for a new bike and was considering a duc until my brother offered me a sweet deal on his rockster (R1150R) that i couldn't pass up.
the rockster was bmw's "naked bike". and i really loved riding that thing until i crashed it a couple months ago! i survived the crash with 5 fractured ribs and a sprained ankle but the insurance co wanted to salvage the bike. and that lead me to go shopping for a ducati. this S4 is a full 100lbs lighter than the rockster, more powerful, sounds sweeter and way more sexy...
i also test rode an '07 S2R 800 with less miles. same price as the older S4 but the 8 valver 916 engine is obviously on a different level. from what i'm told, the Fogarty model has a tweaked ECU and a full termignoni exhaust system that bumps up the HP to 110hp from the stock S4 which is 101HP. i picked it up on tuesday and took her up on angeles crest and really got a feel for her. AWESOME and i couldn't be more happy.
NOTE: some of you might have seen this posted on DML...things are kind of crazy over there. i hope to have a better time here...
