Does anyone have experience with both of these seats? Is there a difference between them other than the price? Thanks

This was a big topic on TOB. I don't know a whole lot about Corbin since I don't have one but I have a Sargent.

Corbin:
lower than stock
comfier for passenger


Sargent:
higher than stock
not as comfy for passenger
seat cowl barely fits/doesn't fit (depends  Roll Eyes)
large under seat storage  waytogo
bungee hooks that are sorta functional... (I've had a bungee jump off them a few times)
dishing of the seat pulls you away from the tank

not my bike, but for reference

Comfort-wise, they are both great seats and you will be happy either way.  I decided on the Sarge cause it's a little taller, and the extra leg room was handy.

+1 on the Sarge for taller people, Either one beats the stocker though.

With the Sergeant and a 2up rider... Do your nads get squished as much or less than stock? I found that with the wife sitting behind me on the stocker seat, after about an hour, I need a pry bar to get my sack pried from the tank.

I really don't slide forward at all since installing the Sargent, but I never ride with a pillion.  Apparently the Corbin has a better passenger perch.

The pics above of the cromo is actually my bike which has about 60k miles on it with about 20k each on the stock, corbin, and sargent and many 600-800 mile days on all the seats.

The corbin is the best for a pillion but still not great. To be honest I really hate the corbin, which I shouldn't admit to as I will probably try and sell it here. It's hard as a plank and...no....it doesn't break in....it stays hard. It also sits you lower than the sargent and is friggin' hell on the knees after about half an hour....and I'm only 5'9. FWIW I also bought a corbin for the triumph sprint I recently sold and I hated it on that bike too.  The corbin is also much heavier than the sargent and has no storage space. It's really a friggin' brick.

The sargent is fantastic for the rider, but completely useless for a pillion. In fact, when I contacted sargent about getting them to rebuild it with a better pillion perch, they replied that the pan is not strong enough for a pillion and their seats are not meant to be used 2-up.  For single riding however, the sargent is much better than stock or corbin. One caveat however, if you're riding track days or canyon carving, you may not like how much higher the sargent sits you up. When riding twisties I prefer the feeling of sitting in the bike which I get with the stock seat or corbin. I lose that with the sargent as it feels more like I'm sitting up on the bike vs. in the bike, but for touring, it's the bees knees.

i have to agree with pitbull, i have the sargent and its great for commuting, but i cant stand it in the mountains.   i wish the sargent could be modded to be a bit lower because it sits a little far off the frame compared to stock or the corbin, kinda ruins the look for me.

I went this route and had them customize my Sargent. It was $$$ but I like my results. It's like a slightly taller stocker now but more comfortable.  Wink I had them lower the front nose of the seat and extended the pillion portion since I'm a smaller guy and wanted the girl to be able to sit closer to me.

any pics? im thinking of getting mine customized a bit to shave some off the nose to lower it a bit. my biggest gripe is that you can see through the bike under the sargent, I wanna shave the rubbers under the seat to lower it down on the frame

These are the markups that I sent to Sargent. I don't have any close up shots of the results though. They shaved off the hump in the square at the nose and extended the pillion to the line in the back.

I'm thinking of getting either the Corbin or Sargent but can't decide.. I was pretty close to choosing corbin but now knowing that it ends up lowering the seat some I have some concerns.

I'm 6'1" and ride an '07 S2R.  Can anyone comment on which of these seats would probably help/hurt me the most?  I already sometimes feel like I wish my footpegs were about a half inch lower, so I imagine a lower seat probably wouldn't do me much good.  Thoughts?

Yeah, I think the Sargent would help you. It's about an inch taller than a Corbin from what I hear and about 1/2" taller than stock.
