How archaic, buying a crazy contraption like that.  Spinning media is so 2000's.

But yeah, it's crazy.  My first hard drive purchase was a 20 MB monster for well over $1000...

I still remember the day I paid 800 bucks for 16 MB of RAM.

Man, I could play DOOM like a MoFo with that machine.

In my day, we stored our data on cassette tapes... and we liked it.

We loved it.

well, i am going to use it to replace the hard drive that has all my software installs on it, and the hard drive that has all my mp3's on it, and the old IDE drive that has all the various edits of my demo reels and all the source footage, compressed versions, international versions etc.... my main drives c and d are both raid arrays, i am a huge fan since i lost a drive last year with 6 months of projects on it. OUCH.

so i am going to copy 3 drives worth of stuff onto it, and one day soon i will buy a matching drive and mirror everything on the big one, so i'll be fully covered. of course, lots of things can still go wrong...

the other drives can always be used for something... holding doors ajar etc.

raid 2, is that a mirror or a stripe of some kind?

i have so much junk on the drives but i hate to delete anything 'in case' i might ever need it again... haha

like i will ever want to install Quark Xpress again. that said i've been looking for a working windows 95 system with audio and gfx to run a CD-Rom magazine i made back in the 90's... or an PowerPC7500 or 8500 box... lol. damn old quicktimes just won't run with the newer OS's... it was quicktime3 though i think.

see? now if i'd only kept one, just in case
