Dremel piece suitable for nice cuts through plastic?

I tried the metal cutting disc on the rear chain guard. It went well, but left the plastic partly melted and it was a bit tricky to smooth the edges.
Is there another bit that is easier to use - cleaner and easier to control? I don't know what they're all called, so a picture would be nice.

I have an idea for a mod of my beer tray (which I'm keeping).

The metal cutting discs are okay, try dropping the cutting speed way down and take your time, let the disc cool a bit after taking a slice. A little bit of water in a spray bottle may help, but messy. Use fine emery paper to clean up the edges.

Yup, I think reducing the speed considerably will help with the melting...

take a bottle of water, drill a hole in the top, fill it with ice and water, and spray water over the cut area while you are cutting.

I tried to dremel an air box lid and got the same melty results.  I ended up just taking the blade out of my hack saw and using it much lick you'd use a plunge saw.  Between the strength of the saw blade and the softness of the plastic it went through like a knife in butter and gave a nice straight cut.  To smooth things off and get at some spots the saw wasn't good for, I used the little drum sander dremel attachment on the lowest speed.

Wish I saw that video before I cut my belt covers!
I used the metal cutting disc also.... I went through 3 of them(plastic melted and caked on the disc)
Turned out fine in the end though...
I'd make this disc but clamp the cover down    - oh and say a prayer

on most plastic (not fairing) material you can also get away with just using a utility knife which leaves a much cleaner edge.  If you find that to be too elbow grease intensive also try taping off the edge you are going to Dremel.  Masking tape works just fine, also allows a place for you to mark your lines clearly for cutting.  It won't eliminate the plastic burrs but will cut down on them and make for an easier cleaning.  You should be able to get most of the burrs by "pinching the edge" with finger and thumb and run down the length.  A pair of leather work gloves will help with that too.

+1 on the cutting speed.  You're running it too fast.
