It wouldn't really make sense for ducati to produce this bike in this config... They'll probably drop the 1100 in the existing 696 package, but why would they want to design and manufacture yet another version of the SSS/rear suspension? It would be like the S2R800 having a completely different back end than the S2R1000...

I rode a 1100 Hypermotard and was not impreesed w/ the 1100 engine.

The photo of the M1100 looks pretty good . I would like to see the next gen. of the S4Rs.  Dolph

How can you be impressed going from a 996 stretta motor to an air cooled 1100?  I really hope no one knocks my bike over, cause then I would have to settle for getting a new bike with a broken sounding clutch.

They've been using the SSS to define the higher end models for a while now. I just think they should use a SSS that they already have rather than making some ridiculously expensive one off. Take the multi/hm SSS and use that. Done.

Because the 1100 has more bottom end torque.

Is there no oil cooler?  I can't tell or maybe it's tucked away somewhere out of sight.

Rameses

That's definitely NOT a Hyper swingarm in the pics.

It looks "OK" to me...not gonna trade/sell my S4Rs for that bike that's for sure.

Doesn't anyone think the heads and barrels look too small to be an 1100, or even a 1000 for that matter? Not to mention no oil cooler (which someone else did bring up) and it doesn't look like there is a second spark plug in that head (crappy picture though). I suspect someone is jumping the gun a bit here.
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

New look makes me regret selling my S2R...  But I got an '06 Sport 1000 out of selling it, so at least I still have a good looking air cooled Ducati.  :D

So a 696 with SSS and a dry clutch say you?  Still  [puke]

You have a point with the dry clutch cover and I have to admit upon closer inspection that there could be a second spark plug connector there.  I'll put mine up against that one any day.  [laugh]

From what i can tell with the 696 there is an oil cooler mount underneath the black intakes on the bottom of the bike behind the screen. I bet it is there.

it scores points with me for having the SSS but i'm still a much bigger fan of the S*R aesthetics; no question in my book.  and i was never a big fan of the combined passenger pegs setup.
