"That's not a silly walk. THIS is a silly walk!"

« on: September 03, 2008, 09:57:34 PM »

Hey y'all,

I'm about to pull the trigger on a pair of the Rizoma Reverse Retros for my s2r 1K (really like the way they look), but I've heard some negative reports about visibility once they're installed.  I do use my mirrors, so being able to see out of them (reasonably well), is a definite priority.

Anyone here try the Reverse Retros on their bike?  Was visibility significantly impaired?  I realize they are smaller than stock, and I don't mind having to adjust my habits somewhat, but I really don't want to miss a significant part of what I can presently see by using the stockers.

What about CRG bar-ends?  Do these decrease visibility also?  They are my second choice (because they're so common), but I'll get them instead of the Rizomas if they're a lot more functional as mirrors.

Thanks for any feedback!

The Rizoma's that you mentioned with cut visibility by a very high degree.  This isn't simply because of their size, but because they are "flat glass" mirrors.  I haven't tried the CRG's, but a few people I know have and really like them.  I had Napolean's on my monster and loved them.  They sit out at the end of your bars, have a pretty good size visible area and are convex as well, so you get the best of all worlds.  Plus, they only cost about $35 per mirror.  I would say the only potential negative to them is that some people find them too big, but that is all personal preference.

Don't know about the Rizome, but I have the CRG. Their really too small to be real useful. Had a bar-end mirror like napolean,I like those alot better. Some don't like the look.

I have the CRG lane splitters and like them a lot.  They don't vibrate at all and you can make out what is behind you.  I highly recommend them over the stock mirrors.

I have the Rizmos, they are small and have flat glass but they have a blue tint which seems to increase clarity.  It takes a bit to adjust them but after some work I have full visibility.  To be fair I occasionally see my arm on the left side but maybe thats just me leaning that way Smiley

I highly recommend them.
