Ride Report -- Marin 9/6

We did the Tam loop this morning. [moto] What a beautiful day. The roads were clear, there wasn't any of the usual Tam early-morning dew or even wet spots coming down the backside. It really was surprisingly clear. Great ride, good pace. I was able to try out an S4r for the day. I always forget how much high end pull that 996 has.
We stopped by Hattar after to look at bikes and ran into smducman, who had an unfortunate and just damn unlucky encounter with a big ole rock yesterday. Though he took a beating, he fared better than his GT. Danny's got a broken wrist, but the bike is toast. G'luck healing up, mang. Glad you're ok. 'belle, time to notch another ticker entry.

Yeah, it's fine. I was just on an s4r for the day. I'm having new spacers machined for the rear brake carrier of the m1000SS (which floats freely instead of being bolted to the swingarm), so it's out of commission for the next week or so. I'll post up in Acc & Mods when I get 'em done.

Damn Danny, sorry to hear that. I'm glad to hear you're more or less OK. I don't know why people say things "rock" - rocks are bad.

... even wet spots coming down the backside.
That sounds really really dirty.
But it was an awesome ride, to be sure. The kind of day that plugs you right back into the reason you own a bike.

Damn, Danny. Hope you're OK. Sorry to hear about your third toy. But it just makes room in the garage for that Desmosedici we've been talking about robbing a bank to buy

No ride with Spidey is complete without someone having something zip-tied somewhere it's not supposed to be by the end of the day. This time, my rear brake pads fell out, so I went home with a caliper hanging off my rearset. Y'know, the weight re-distribution of a relocated rear brake caliper doesn't affect turn in as much as one would think, but you do get a bit more torque out of the high end, which is funny cuz having the caliper on your rearset just adds to sprung dead weight. Some things I just don't get.
smducman was in remarkably good spirits on Saturday, which is good to see.

I kept wondering who was chucking stones at me n' belle as we were toodling along behind you. Turns out it was parts of your bike. Oh, and bite me.
This is exactly why I carry zipties underneath my seat.

Does that mean that you won't need surgery? All the bones are in line and can heal on their own? If so, that's great news.

Yep it's good news , no need for surgery , now i have a chance to watch over again all dvd race which collect last few years , i guess to burn free time or shop on line for new gears.
