My son asked to see a collection of baseball cards that I inherited many years back.  I went through them, then I looked some up on ebay.  The 1968 Topps Steve Carlton card is going for $1495.00 for a perfect "10".  Ive got 5 of those cards, two of which I would bet are at least an 8 but more than likely a 9 according to the grading guidelines.  Ive got a few Tom Seavers, Jim Hunters, Willie Mays and Rod Carew.  I have them in rigid protective sleeves but thing I will upgrade to the rigid screw down lexan cases.

All I know about collecting baseball cards is what I read about last night.  Anyone into card collecting?  Best place to store them?

I have mine in the basement with a dehumidifier going.

Look into grading the more expensive ones.
Why do roaches always die on their back?

That because the survivors flip them over to steal their sneakers and wallets.

No experience on baseball cards, But I did see a Michael Jordan rookie card in a store with a price tag that would get you a nice little 1098s.

I say sell the Steve Carltons and use the money for mods  [evil]

Could you post a link to a 1968 Steve Carlton card that is going for $1495  ???  I mean one that is going to sell for that.  Not one that someone has listed for that much.  That is retarded, even though a 10 is extremely rare, that isn't even his rookie card.  If you get a $100 out of that card you're doing good.

AROUND 1987 the card market got silly. they started printing freaky insert sets and creating rarities. I quit collecting new stuf except players i like. I hate the new cards that they cut old jersey and bats up and put a piece in a card.

buy yourself a copy of Beckets and see if your stuff is in there. if it is figure you can get 1/3 of what it says unless you are willing to put it on ebay. stuf out there goes for more if the right 2 people want it at the same time.

I'll give you a Benelli project for the jordan rooky?
